An alumnus of Loreto House and St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, Bhadra Ray completed her post graduation in economics from Calcutta University, and M.Phil and Ph.D from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

She has been associated with the Centre for Research in Indo –Bangladesh Relation, Kolkata and is at present involved in postdoctoral research. She lives in Kolkata with her husband and two sons.
